The Cabarrus County Fair made many improvements to enhance the visitor experience during its nine-day run last September – leading to the 2011 Cabarrus County Fair winning 10 international awards and four state awards.
The Fair also earned 27 perfect scores for components of various categories and a total perfect score for all components in the Youth category, based upon on-site evaluation during the Fair by the North Carolina Association of Agricultural Fairs (NCAOAF). The NCAOAF presented the 2011 Cabarrus County Fair with the Commissioner of Agriculture Award, the Youth Award, the Agriculture Award and the Media Award (based on a compilation of marketing, advertising, branding and promotion).
The International Association of Fairs and Expos judged the Cabarrus County Fair against top regional and state fairs worldwide and presented these awards to the Cabarrus County Fair:
6 Hall of Honor Communication Awards for outdoor advertising campaign, promotional advertising, marketing materials and broadcast, newspaper and print advertising,
2 Competitive Exhibit Awards for interactivity of exhibits and exhibit displays, and
2 Agricultural Program Awards for green programs and agricultural activities.
