Oct. 23, 2013 – The Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners held its regular meeting on Monday, Oct. 21. Watch the meeting on TWC Channel 22 or Cabarrus County's YouTube channel. You can also review tweets sent live from the meeting.

  • The Board adopted proclamations for DECA Month, Veterans Day, Military Order of the Purple Heart’s Purple Heart Community and Weatherization Day 2013. 
  • It recognized the Department of Human Services for several Child Support Performance Awards and Ned Hudson for his 2013 N.C. Outstanding Conservation District Board Member Award.
  • Staff provided updates on the impact of the Federal shutdown and NCFAST. The Board voted to approve $20,700 that will provide an additional month of temporary workers to assist with the backlogged NCFAST entries.
  • The Board approved consent items, including the demolition of the old jail and courthouse annex renovations, and electronic records in the Register of Deeds Office.
  • The Board held a public hearing and failed to approve an application for Rural Operating Assistance Program FY14 Funding Request. It approved restoration of the Memorial Fountain at the Historic Courthouse (contingent on DAR fundraising support) and revisions to County re-inspection fees.
