Highlights from the Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners meeting

Aug. 21, 2014 – The Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners held its regular meeting on Monday, August 18. Watch the meeting on TWC Channel 22 or Cabarrus County's YouTube channel. You can also review tweets sent live from the meeting.
 

 
Among its decisions at the August 18 meeting, the Board:
  • Recognized Recognized Carl Pless for National Distinguished Service Award and adopted a proclamation naming September 2014 Child Support Month
  • Approved old business items, including a bid to Rinker Commercial Properties for property on Union Street South and funding one additional working hour for school nurses out of the contingency fund for the amount of $105,934.82
  • Approved consent items, including the dissolution of the Council for a Sustainable Local Economy, reappropriation of funds for ongoing projects, Community Transportation Service Plan Resolution, emergency hydrants for Northeast Volunteer Fire Department, request to join as a commemorative partner for the Vietnam
    War Commemoration, and the Tax Administration office’s Refund and Release Report for July 2014
  • New business: Set public hearing for the September 15, 2014 regular meeting at 6:30 p.m. to consider options for updating the Active Living and Parks ordinance related to NCGS 14-415.23
