Feb. 4, 2014 -- How far would you drive to visit one of the best fairs in the world? The answer may be closer than you think.

The Cabarrus County Fair was recently recognized as being one of the world’s best, walking away with 17 awards from the International Association of Fairs and Expositions (IAFE), including 11 communication awards, five agriculture awards and an exhibit award. The North Carolina Association of Agricultural Fairs (NCAOAF) presented Cabarrus with the Commissioner of Agriculture and Media awards, and also recognized the Cabarrus County Fair for its exceptional involvement in the Best in Show program at the NC State Fair. If you’re counting, that’s 38 international awards in just two years for the Cabarrus County Fair.

Congratulations to all of the folks, led by Cabarrus County Fair Director Kate Sharpe, who made the 2013 Fair a success.

The 2014 Cabarrus County Fair will take place Sept. 5-14, 2014 at the Cabarrus Arena and Events Center. To learn more, call 704-786-7221.
