Community meetings will be held in April and May for residents and stakeholders in the central area of Cabarrus County as part of an effort to develop a new land use plan for the area. Cabarrus County, in cooperation with the city of Concord, will be creating a new land use plan for the central area of Cabarrus County - a pre-defined area roughly between Concord and Mount Pleasant that is bordered by Rocky River Road and Cold Springs Road. The plan will guide development in this area, which one day may be annexed by the city of Concord.
An advisory committee, made up of key stakeholders in the area, will help guide the planning process. The results of the advisory meetings and community meetings will help develop regulations for zoning and future utility extensions.
