Parks Commission

The Parks Commission is an eleven member advisory body for the Parks Department and the County. The Commission advises and recommends policies to the Board of Commissioners, Management and the Department related to matters affecting park policies, grants, programs, staffing, budget, land acquisition, and pertinent items related to the operation, goals, mission, and future direction of the Parks Department. Representation is based on the planning districts of the County and both school boards along with a Board of Commissioner liaison.

"To Enrich the Quality of Life by Providing High Quality Recreation and Education Opportunities in Harmony with Natural Resource Preservation."

The Parks Commission meets the third Thursday of each month in the multi-purpose room of the Cabarrus County Governmental Center at 6:00 pm. Periodically meetings are at park locations and are advertised on the website. Terms are three years in length and each member can be re-appointed one time.
