North Cabarrus Park

North Cabarrus LakeThis 90 acre park offers a relaxing place to get away and is perfect for more passive recreational pursuits. The park opened in 2002 as the result of a cooperative effort with Cabarrus County, the City of Kannapolis, and the Church of God Children’s Home. The City of Kannapolis and the Church of God leased the land to Cabarrus County to build and maintain a park.

Developed to compliment the area’sNorth Cabarrus Lake natural beauty, this park will undergo 6 phases of development before final completion. Features of this serene park include: playgrounds, 4 picnic shelters, picnic sites, volleyball court, 2 basketball courts, free standing bench swings, horseshoe pits, a 9 hole disc golf course, a boardwalk, a 1.2 mile walking trail, bocce bourts, a wetlands trail, and a restroom building.

Additional phases include tennis courts, a mountain bike trail, a bridge across Irish Buffalo Creek, 9 Disc Golf Holes, and additional trail mileage. The park is also located on the Carolina Thread Trail route between Kannapolis and Concord.

There are various nature and wildlife classes held throughout the year as well as serving host to several community events throughout the year.

Free Nature Walk at North Cabarrus Park (third Saturday of each month). Join us Saturday, June 16, 2012 (weather permitting) for a guided nature walk through our trails. Come out and discover all the beauty mother nature provides! Walk begins @ 10 am. Meet in front of the office/restrooms. Pre-Registration is not required.
