Commercial pesticides licenses are required to apply pesticides on another person’s property for compensation. Pesticides include all herbicides, fungicides, insecticides, rodenticides and other forms of pesticides. Compensation includes any payment from the property owner.
To get a commercial pesticide license you must take a test and then pay a fee.
The number of recertification credits required for commercial license varies by subcategory. The most common subcatergory of turf and ornamentals (L) requires 10 credit hours over 5 years and they have to be in more than 1 year. At least 2 hours of L training is offered each year with 6 hours being offered most years. It is your responsibility to find recertification opportunities.
