The Cabarrus County Senior Centers are focal points for the Department of Aging. The Senior Centers serve as the primary locations where older adults come together to receive services and participate in a wide range of programs designed to meet the diverse needs and interests of Cabarrus County's older adults, adults with disabilities and their caregivers.
The Cabarrus County Department of Aging coordinates several human service programs funded by the NC Department of Health and Human Services, the Older Americans Act, and Cabarrus County. These programs encourage an active, healthy lifestyle for older adults by promoting total wellness and allowing the clients to remain independent.
The Department of Aging utilizes a "Person Centered" approach to providing services and supports to the residents of Cabarrus County. This philosophy preserves the dignity of each individual while minimizing institutional care. The Department of Aging also partners with other agencies to ensure local older adults and adults with disabilities receive all of the available services and support they need and desire.
