Title V Employment Program

Older American Community Service Employment Program (OACSEP)

Title V, or the Older American Community Service Employment Program (OACSEP), is a training program for those 55 years of age or older, who live in Cabarrus County and meet certain income requirements. Eligibility is determined at the time of application.

A Title V participant will receive the following benefits:

  • Hourly Wages
  • Skill development in new occupations through Continuing Adult Education
  • Meaningful work experiences through community service at local agencies/non-profits
  • On-the-job training
  • Personalized assistance in finding employment
  • Supportive Services (i.e. medical, eye & dental exams; work apparel and equipment; etc.)

Qualities the older worker can bring to the job are a superior work ethic, employer loyalty, maturity in the workplace, a flexible schedule and an eagerness to learn new technologies.

Title V is a program of the U.S. Department of Labor, administered by the State of North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services and coordinated locally by the Cabarrus County Department of Aging.
