Cabarrus Senior Games began as in 1985 - as part of a statewide health and wellness promotion and education programs for adults 55 years of age and older. For over 20 years, our older adults have been walking, running, throwing, pitching, swimming and swinging - drawing, knitting, weaving, painting and writing - their way to better physical and mental health.
Held each year in the spring, Cabarrus Senior Games offers competition in a wide variety of sports, events and the arts. To be eligible to participate, individuals must:
- be 55 years of age or older on or before December 31 of competition year
- be a resident of Cabarrus (minimum 3 consecutive months) or participate in County Senior Center programs an average of 3 times per month
- live in a county where an event is not offered.
