Participate in the 2012 Community Needs Assessment Survey!

The 2012 Community Needs Assessment process is underway and we want your input! Healthy Cabarrus and the Cabarrus Health Alliance are coordinating this effort. Every four years, multiple community agencies, organizations, and individuals come together as part of the Community Needs Assessment process. The purpose is to identify community issues and needs, as well as strengths, which affect health, safety, and quality of life in Cabarrus County. Previous assessments have been utilized to bring awareness to our most pressing issues and influence community efforts and allocation of resources towards those issues.

This is your opportunity to participate in the decision making process and help decide where dollars are spent. One way to learn about community needs is to hear directly from residents. So we are asking for YOUR participation by taking part in a short survey. The survey is now available and can be accessed online. It requires about 15 minutes to complete the Community Assessment Survey. If you do not have internet access, contact Healthy Cabarrus at 704-920-1216 for information on obtaining a paper copy of the survey.

With your help the Community Planning Council will:

  • identify current and emerging community issues and needs
  • determine whether the issues identified in 2008 continue to be priority needs
  • document actions that have addressed the major needs identified in 2008

The assessment will be finalized in summer 2012 and the findings will be widely distributed.
