Landfill Drop–Off
Residents of Cabarrus County may bring household waste and yard waste to the Cabarrus County Landfill at 4441 Irish Potato Road, Concord. Fees will be charged depending on the amount of waste and the type of waste.
Landfill Fee Schedule – EFFECTIVE January 1, 2009

* NO CHARGE if bring 2 grocery bags of recyclable material per load of any of these items:
- Glass - Green, Brown and Clear (Beverage or Food Containers)
- Aluminum and Steel Cans
- Household Paper (Newspaper, Magazines, Junk Mail, Cereal Boxes, etc.)
- Plastic Containers, #1-7 (NO #6 Styrofoam)
- Cardboard (does not need to be bagged)
Other Items that can be dropped off at NO CHARGE:
- can be recycled at no charge during the month of January.
- Scrap metal and appliances– All grades of scrap metal (no sealed containers or gas cylinders) as well as appliances such as refrigerators, ranges, washers, furnaces, A/C units and small kitchen appliances like microwaves, blenders, toasters, etc.
- Power lawn equipment such as mowers, edgers, etc. drained of all gasoline and oil.
- Used tires – Tires delivered by county residents are accepted in loads of 5 or less AT NO CHARGE. (Tires from commercial establishments must be delivered to US Tire Recycling on Poplar Tent Road consistent with N.C.G.S. 130A-309.58.)
- Electronics - Computers, printers, stereos cameras, cell phones, etc. TVs and computer monitors DO have a fee (see below).
Fees for TVs and Computer Monitors:
- TV 20” diag. or smaller – $5.00
- TV 21” diag. or larger – $10.00
- Computer Monitors – $5.00
Electronics are accepted at:
- Cabarrus County Landfill, 4441 Irish Potato Rd., Concord during regular hours
- Cabarrus County Household Hazardous Waste Facility, 246 General Services Drive in Concord on the HHW collection day schedule or by appointment.
Curbside Collection
Cabarrus County residents who live in the unincorporated area may choose to subscribe for curbside waste and recycling services with Republic/Allied Services (BFI).
