North Cabarrus Park Phase III - Completed
Project Highlights:
- phase III will develop an additional 37 acres of the park’s 90 acres
- large picnic pavilion (shelter) and additional picnic sites
- pond improvements, includes boardwalk, waterfall/aeration fountain
- large playground with swings and slides
- disc golf course and bocce courts
- additional walking/hiking trails and nature/science interpretive trail
- additional parking/landscaping/signage
- special note:
- only 8.5 (of 90) acres will be disturbed during construction.
Cox Mill School Park - Completed 2009
Project Highlights:
- size: approximately 18 to 20 acres
- completion date: fall 2007 or spring 2008
- one 300-foot baseball field and two 200-foot baseball/softball fields
- one combination baseball/soccer field and two soccer fields
- accessible sidewalks system to Cox Mill Elementary School
- concession/restrooms building and road way/parking areas
- special notes:
- All athletic fields will have athletic lights, in-ground irrigation, Bermuda grass, bleachers, scoreboards, dugouts and fencing.
- Project replaces current athletic/park facilities at Odell Elementary School.
- Opening will be determined by growth of athletic grass on fields.
