Free Workshop Shows How to Reduce Energy Costs in Summer Heat
June 14, 2010 – Air conditioners are cranking up, fans are blowing, and lots of other household appliances are working overtime to help us stay cool and comfortable during the summer heat wave. If you want to keep your electric bill low during the dog days of summer, then come out to a free workshop to learn simple tips to stay cool and save money.
Make plans now to attend the “Give Your Home an Energy Tune-Up” workshop Thursday, June 17 from 6:30 until 8:30 pm at the NC Cooperative Extension-Cabarrus County Center, 715 Cabarrus Avenue in Concord. In this free workshop offered through Live It Up Cabarrus sustainable living series, you will learn practical tips for reducing energy consumption at home, ways to make your home more energy efficient and increase your home’s value, as well as how to conduct a home energy audit.
