Current Road Closings due to Overnight Storm

January 25, 2010 – Four roads in Cabarrus County remain closed due to flooding caused by an overnight storm. Pharr Mill Road, Irish Potato Road at Barrier Road, Hwy. 200 at Bost Grist Mill, and Mount Pleasant Road South at Hwy. 200 currently are closed.

Residents in eight homes were evacuated last night and are being assisted by the American Red Cross. The shelter has now closed.

Kannapolis Village, a nursing care facility on Pine Street in Kannapolis, flooded overnight. Thirty–four residents of the nursing facility have been temporarily relocated to other facilities. Residents will be able to return to Kannapolis Village once clean up is complete.

In addition, Pharr Mill Road Park and North Cabarrus Park are closed today due to high water.
