What is Cabarrus Neighborhood Partners?
Cabarrus Neighborhood Partners is a neighborhood outreach program designed to encourage public involvement in county government by empowering, enriching and energizing our diverse neighborhoods. The program achieves this by sponsoring educational programs and activities to educate residents regarding the county’s policies, processes and programs, while encouraging and promoting information sharing amongst residents and between residents and the county.
This program decentralizes local government and brings it into neighborhoods by assigning a county staff member, who serves as a liaison, to each neighborhood area. The liaison will attend neighborhood area team meetings on a quarterly basis and assist residents in prioritizing their needs, identifying their assets and strengthening their community.
Cabarrus Neighborhood Partners is designed to build positive relationships which facilitate direct communication among citizens and county government.
Program Goals
- Build positive relationships with county residents/community groups
- Improve communication among local government and residents
- Create more public involvement throughout the county
- Help neighborhood groups respond to and shape their changing communities
- Help neighbors prioritize needs, identify assets and strengthen their community
What makes us different?
Neighborhoods are places to live, work, learn and play. Cabarrus County respects the history, character and unique identity of each neighborhood. We also understand that each neighborhood has special needs and its own set of ideas. We acknowledge the work that each neighborhood has already accomplished. Cabarrus Neighborhood Partners provides the opportunity for neighbors to continue strengthening their neighborhoods together while utilizing the many services that our program has to offer.
